Interim Business Analyst
Guildford | Local Authority | Temporary | Until End of March

Pay: Competitive / DOE

We’re looking for an experienced and analytical Business Analyst to support a Local Authority Housing Transformation Programme on an interim basis until the end of January. This role will focus on analysing, mapping, and improving housing service processes to drive efficiency, better customer outcomes, and more effective use of systems and data.

The Role
As Business Analyst, you’ll take the lead on identifying opportunities for service improvement, supporting the design and implementation of new processes, and ensuring clear documentation across all areas of housing. You’ll:

  • Map, document, and analyse end-to-end housing processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for redesign.

  • Facilitate workshops and engage with teams to define “as-is” and “to-be” processes.

  • Develop process maps, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and supporting documentation.

  • Support the delivery of data-driven insights to inform project decisions and monitor performance.

  • Ensure alignment between business needs, system capabilities, and transformation objectives.

  • Maintain accurate and compliant records of analysis and documentation in line with governance standards.

  • Work closely with project, IT, and transformation colleagues to ensure change is embedded effectively.

About You
You’ll bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to translate complex information into clear, actionable insights. You will also have:

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst or Process Analyst, ideally within housing or local government.

  • Excellent process mapping, data analysis, and documentation skills.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.

  • Experience developing SOPs and supporting transformation or service improvement projects.

  • Proficiency in tools such as Visio, Miro, Lucidchart, or Power BI.

  • A structured and self-motivated approach to managing multiple priorities.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced analyst to make a tangible impact on a major housing transformation programme, improving efficiency, compliance, and service delivery.
