Freebridge Community Housing – West Norfolk
Tenure: 3 years (with the option to extend to 6)
Remuneration: £2,933.85 annually (approx. 8 days per year)
Use your development expertise to make a lasting difference in West and North Norfolk
Do you want to see the tangible impact of your professional experience—new homes built, lives improved and communities strengthened? Freebridge Community Housing is expanding its Development Committee and is seeking a housing development specialist with Housing Sector experience to help steer our ambition to build 130 new homes a year.
This is an opportunity to put your expertise to work in a way that leaves a visible legacy. As part of the committee, you’ll influence key investment decisions, shape sustainable growth, and ensure new homes meet the highest standards of quality, design, and environmental performance. In return, you’ll gain experience at board level, strengthen your strategic skills, and contribute to a purpose-driven organisation making a real social impact.
Why Freebridge?
Freebridge Community Housing is the largest housing provider in West Norfolk, owning and managing around 7,700 homes across West and North Norfolk. Established in 2006, and now employing more than 200 colleagues with a turnover of £38m, we are proud to provide thousands of quality homes while keeping our focus on people, place and purpose.
Our work goes far beyond bricks and mortar. We’re building opportunity – investing in communities, supporting tenants to thrive, and leading the way on sustainability and regeneration across the region.
What you’ll bring
We are seeking an independent Development Committee member with senior level experience in new homes development within the Housing Sector. You’ll bring professional insight, a collaborative mindset, and the confidence to question, challenge, and support our growth strategy.
If you enjoy shaping long-term strategy, ensuring accountability, and applying your knowledge to real-world impact, this would be an excellent next step. Previous committee or non-executive experience isn’t essential; what matters is curiosity, commitment, and the ability to think strategically.
