The Role:

We are seeking an experienced Compliance Surveyor to support the development and delivery of a robust property compliance management system across domestic and commercial properties.

This hybrid role requires two days per week onsite, with flexibility to work from home and travel across operational areas as required.

You will play a key part in monitoring and validating compliance data, managing specialist contractors, supporting the development of specifications and policies, and providing technical expertise across the organisation. Ensuring 100% compliance across multiple building safety disciplines will be central to your success.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, verify and validate compliance documentation across all property compliance areas.
  • Monitor daily compliance performance and ensure contractors deliver against targets.
  • Manage contractor relationships, performance meetings, KPIs and service level requirements.
  • Prepare specifications, service level agreements, tender packs and technical documents.
  • Conduct inspections, surveys, feasibility assessments and prepare cost estimates.
  • Run data reports, audit compliance records and maintain a high‑quality evidence base.
  • Identify trends, risks and non‑compliances, escalating where required.
  • Provide technical advice to estates and operational management teams.
  • Support budget management, project planning and CapEx programme development.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of legislation, best practice and industry standards.
  • Champion a customer‑focused approach and provide professional guidance where needed.
  • Participate in external compliance groups and continuous professional development.

 

 What We’re Looking For:

  • Strong technical expertise across building services, contractor management and property compliance.
  • In‑depth understanding of statutory, legislative and regulatory requirements within social housing or care sectors.
  • Experience in performance‑based management, compliance monitoring and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation and relationship‑building skills.
  • Ability to work proactively, independently and under pressure with conflicting demands.
  • Strong analytical capability and proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • A customer‑focused, solution‑driven approach with resilience and adaptability.

 

Qualifications Required:

  • Full driving licence.
  • Relevant technical or trade qualification in construction/building services (e.g. ONC/HNC/HND).
  • NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds in plumbing, heating, gas or electrical installation.
  • Asbestos Management (P405) – or willingness to work towards.
  • Legionella Risk Assessment & Water Management certification – or willingness to work towards.
  • Health & Safety qualification (IOSH/NEBOSH General/NEBOSH Fire) – or willingness to work towards.
  • ACS ACOP modules in gas (commercial/domestic) – desirable.
  • Ability to travel extensively with occasional overnight stays.
