The Role:

We are seeking a Repairs Supervisor to lead and optimise a team of Repairs Engineers, ensuring responsive repairs are completed to high standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction. This role is central to maintaining safe, warm, and well‑maintained homes, while driving performance improvements and supporting engineers to deliver their best work.

In this hands‑on supervisory role, you will oversee repairs delivery, carry out property inspections, support complex repair diagnostics, manage scheduling, and work closely with other supervisors to share best practice and enhance service delivery.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and support a team of Repairs Engineers, ensuring repairs are delivered in line with performance, safety, and quality standards. 
  • Carry out property inspections and diagnose complex repairs and hazards, making informed recommendations for required works. 
  • Manage scheduling diaries and oversee day‑to‑day operational workflow. 
  • Take ownership of complex repair cases, ensuring timely, effective and customer‑focused resolutions. 
  • Maintain full Health & Safety responsibility across all works, including delivering toolbox talks and ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures. 
  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, van checks and materials audits to support productivity and service quality. 
  • Collaborate with other supervisors to deliver continuous improvements and share operational best practice. 

 

What We’re Looking For:

  • NVQ Level 2 (or equivalent) in a relevant trade such as Plumbing or Electrical Installation. 
  • Recognised management or supervisory qualification, or equivalent experience. 
  • Strong experience within repairs or property maintenance, with a broad understanding of construction and building maintenance. 
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop a team of Repairs Engineers. 
  • Experience managing performance, productivity, and customer outcomes. 
  • Solid knowledge of responsive repairs diagnostics and property‑related risks. 
  • Sound understanding of workplace health and safety requirements. 
  • IT literacy and experience using mobile working devices (tablets, smartphones, PDAs). 
  • Ability to plan workloads, organise tasks effectively, and make best use of available resources. 
  • Awareness of HHSRS and risks associated with property condition (desirable).
