Are you an experienced leader in Building Safety, passionate about ensuring residents are safe in their homes and driving compliance with evolving regulations?
The Role:
As Building Safety Lead, you will manage response to the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Regulations, and wider health & safety requirements.
Acting as Building Safety Manager, you’ll ensure our housing stock is compliant, safe, and supported by strong governance, processes, and customer engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead on compliance with all building safety and fire safety legislation, including development and implementation of Building Safety Cases.
Provide strategic advice to Directors and the Board on key building safety issues.
Develop policies, strategies, and training programmes to strengthen compliance and embed a safety-first culture across the organisation.
Engage with customers to ensure they have a clear voice in reporting and resolving safety concerns.
Oversee programmes of intrusive investigations, ensuring findings are actioned and integrated into wider works programmes.
Line manage the Building Safety Project Manager and Building Safety Coordinator.
What We’re Looking For:
Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at Board level and engage effectively across all levels of the organisation.
In-depth knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Regulations, and related health and safety legislation.
Experience in developing and delivering building safety strategies, policies, and compliance programmes.
Excellent communication skills, with the ability to champion customer engagement and feedback.
A collaborative, proactive leader who can role model organisational values.
Qualifications Required:
Professional qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Building Surveying, Fire Engineering, Health & Safety, or similar).
Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS, CIOB, IFE, IOSH) is desirable.
Evidence of continued professional development in building and fire safety legislation.
