Building Safety Lead

Are you an experienced leader in Building Safety, passionate about ensuring residents are safe in their homes and driving compliance with evolving regulations?

The Role:

• As Building Safety Lead, you will manage response to the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Regulations, and wider health & safety requirements.

• Acting as Building Safety Manager, you’ll ensure our housing stock is compliant, safe, and supported by strong governance, processes, and customer engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead on compliance with all building safety and fire safety legislation, including development and implementation of Building Safety Cases.

• Provide strategic advice to Directors and the Board on key building safety issues.

• Develop policies, strategies, and training programmes to strengthen compliance and embed a safety-first culture across the organisation.

• Engage with customers to ensure they have a clear voice in reporting and resolving safety concerns.

• Oversee programmes of intrusive investigations, ensuring findings are actioned and integrated into wider works programmes.

• Line manage the Building Safety Project Manager and Building Safety Coordinator.

What We’re Looking For:

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence at Board level and engage effectively across all levels of the organisation.

• In-depth knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Fire Safety Regulations, and related health and safety legislation.

• Experience in developing and delivering building safety strategies, policies, and compliance programmes.

• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to champion customer engagement and feedback.

• A collaborative, proactive leader who can role model organisational values.

Qualifications Required:

• Professional qualification in a relevant field (e.g. Building Surveying, Fire Engineering, Health & Safety, or similar).

• Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. RICS, CIOB, IFE, IOSH) is desirable.

• Evidence of continued professional development in building and fire safety legislation.
