Full‑time position servicing multiple clients

 

The Role: 

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Building Surveyor or Senior Building Surveyor to deliver a full range of surveying and contract administration services across a diverse project portfolio. You will play a key role in managing surveys, specifications, refurbishment works and stakeholder relationships, ensuring high‑quality project delivery from inception to completion. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work flexibly while maintaining a strong office and site presence.

 

Key Responsibilities :

 

Building Surveying & Technical Delivery:

  • Undertake condition surveys across varied property types.
  • Carry out defect diagnosis and produce technical recommendations.
  • Deliver dilapidations surveys and reports.
  • Prepare planned maintenance programmes.
  • Manage refurbishment and improvement projects.
  • Prepare detailed specifications and schedules of work.
  • Ensure documentation is accurate and aligned with client requirements.
  • Act as Contract Administrator across multiple projects.
  • Act as Employer’s Agent as required.
  • Oversee project delivery from inception to completion.
  • Monitor and control project costs.
  • Maintain full quality assurance processes throughout projects.
  • Produce clear and concise project reports.

 

Client, Contractor & Stakeholder Liaison

  • Liaise with clients to understand needs and expectations.
  • Maintain strong communication with contractors and consultants.
  • Ensure collaborative approaches across project teams.
  • Represent the surveying function professionally during meetings.

 

Project & Team Support

  • Provide support and guidance to junior staff.
  • Contribute to business development activities.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously with strong organisation.
  • Ensure compliance with building regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety legislation.
  • Apply construction best practice across all tasks.

 

What We’re Looking For (shortened):

  • Minimum 5 years’ building surveying experience.
  • Strong experience in contract administration is essential.
  • MRICS desirable; support toward chartership available.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organisation and ability to manage multiple workloads.
  • Knowledge of building regulations, H&S legislation and best practice.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and industry software; full UK driving licence required.

 

 Qualifications Required:

  • Practical building surveying experience essential.
  • MRICS desirable but not mandatory; training support provided.
