Lace Housing
Role: Chief Executive
Location: Lincolnshire
Salary: circa £120,000
Some leadership opportunities are about getting an organisation back on track. This one is about deciding how much further it can go.
At LACE Housing, you’ll find a respected organisation, strong relationships and a culture worth protecting. You’ll also find plans for 100 new homes over three to five years, Homes England funding secured and a Board that has chosen an independent future. For the next Chief Executive, that means a strong starting point—an opportunity to shape that future—not simply look after what is already here.
A strong foundation. Room to make your mark.
LACE is a small, highly regarded organisation working at the intersection of housing, health and social care in Lincolnshire. Strong resident and colleague satisfaction, established local relationships and a distinctive culture give you a great deal to build on.
With our longstanding Chief Executive retiring after 35 years at LACE, including 27 as CEO, this is an important appointment. We’re not looking for a replica of the person leaving. We’re looking for someone who will understand what makes LACE special, bring their own perspective and recognise where things can move forward.
Being a familiar face to residents and colleagues. And leading an organisation that has made a clear choice about its future: to remain independent, with the ambition to do more.
The kind of leadership that matters here
You’ll be comfortable discussing strategy with the Board, listening to a resident and working through a practical challenge with colleagues. None of those conversations should feel like someone else’s job.
Your priorities will be to:
- Turn the refreshed strategy into practical delivery.
- Establish an effective development partnership to support our new homes ambitions.
- Strengthen LACE’s voice and relationships across Lincolnshire.
- Protect the connection with residents and colleagues that makes this organisation what it is.
This calls for sound judgement, emotional intelligence and confidence without ego. You’ll listen properly, make decisions when they’re needed and earn trust through how you work—not simply the title you hold.
Your next step?
You might already be a Chief Executive looking for a role where you can stay close to the organisation and the people it serves. Or you could be an executive director ready for your first CEO appointment.
Your experience is likely to come from housing, although we’re also interested in leaders from closely connected local authority, health or social care settings who understand our operating environment. What matters is your ability to lead the whole organisation, build meaningful relationships and balance ambition with practical delivery.
And Lincolnshire needs to be more than a destination in your diary. You’ll already be local or willing to relocate and become part of the community. This isn’t a long-distance commuting role; relocation support is available for the right appointment.
If you’re looking for a Chief Executive role where you can bring your own leadership style, know the people your decisions affect and help an independent organisation deliver its ambitions, get in touch on the details below.
