Are you an experienced finance leader who thrives in transformation environments? We’re supporting a leading national organisation through an exciting period of change, and they’re looking for an Interim Head of Finance to ensure stability, provide operational leadership, and help prepare the ground for a new permanent structure.
The Role
As Interim Head of Finance, you’ll be the Finance Director’s right hand – leading the day-to-day running of a high-performing finance team (c.9 FTE) while the Director focuses on strategic projects. You’ll play a pivotal role in:
- Ensuring business-as-usual operations continue seamlessly – management accounts, reporting, compliance, payments, and tax.
- Leading the 2026–27 budget planning process.
- Assessing team capability, supporting staff development, and mentoring key individuals.
- Preparing the finance function for a new ERP system implementation and future transformation.
- Deputising for the Finance Director when required and contributing to Board-level reporting.
About You
We’re looking for a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualification experience in senior finance leadership roles. You’ll bring:
- A strong track record of leading finance teams in complex organisations (£40–60m turnover).
- Charity, not-for-profit, hospitality, or multi-site sector experience.
- Excellent change management and team development skills.
- Confidence with ERP systems (Sage X3 desirable) and BI reporting tools.
- A pragmatic, resilient approach – able to assess quickly, steady the ship, and deliver improvements.
Why This Role?
This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact in a well-established national organisation that’s investing in its future. You’ll bring stability, shape the finance team, and leave a legacy of improved processes and stronger foundations.
