Health & Safety Manager

Location: Stockport 
Contract: Interim, 6 months
 

We’re looking for an experienced Health & Safety Manager to lead and develop a proactive, people-focused safety culture across a growing Charity organisation.

You’ll act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, driving compliance, promoting wellbeing, and ensuring safe, inclusive environments across multiple sites. This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll manage a small team, oversee health and safety strategy and audits, and champion continuous improvement.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead organisation-wide health & safety strategy and compliance

  • Advise on high-risk issues and drive risk management best practice

  • Manage audits, inspections, and incident reporting

  • Support and train managers to embed a strong safety culture

  • Oversee a small, dedicated H&S team

What you’ll need:

  • Proven experience in a senior health & safety role

  • Strong knowledge of health & safety legislation and best practice

  • Confident communicator with excellent influencing skills

  • NEBOSH Diploma (or equivalent) preferred
