Interim Data & Business Analyst – Social Housing
£400- £450 per day (depending on experience)
3‑month contract initially, strong likelihood of extension
Hybrid – 2–3 days per week onsite
A local authority is seeking an experienced Data & Business Analyst to support performance, compliance, and service improvement across a range of housing and corporate services. This role is ideal for someone who can blend analytical rigour with practical business analysis, translating complex questions into clear, actionable insight.
The Role
You’ll play a key part in strengthening data quality, reporting capability, and organisational decision‑making. Working closely with service leads, policy teams, and operational managers, you will:
Deliver routine and ad‑hoc data analysis, reporting, and dashboards to support performance, policy, and statutory requirements
Maintain, validate, and analyse complex datasets, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with public‑sector standards
Translate business, service, and policy questions into clear analytical requirements and measurable outputs
Engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather requirements and define outcomes
Identify trends, risks, and opportunities through evidence‑based analysis
Produce clear, accessible insight and recommendations for non‑technical audiences, including senior leaders
Support service improvement and transformation initiatives through data‑led analysis and business process understanding
Document business processes, data definitions, and analytical approaches to support transparency and continuity
Ensure all work aligns with information governance, data protection, and equality duties
Contribute to improving organisational data maturity and analytical best practice
Lead the documentation and development of As‑Is and To‑Be process mapping to support redesign and service improvement
What You’ll Bring
Strong experience in data analysis, reporting, and insight generation
Ability to work with large, complex datasets and ensure data quality
Confident stakeholder engagement skills, able to translate needs into analytical outputs
Experience producing clear, accessible insight for non‑technical audiences
Background in public‑sector, housing, or compliance‑driven environments is highly desirable
Experience in business process mapping and service redesign
A proactive, structured, and collaborative approach
