Interim Director of Housing

Location: North London (3-4 days in the office)

Day Rate: £800-£1000pd (Inside IR35)

Duration: 6-12 months

 An opportunity to oversee a significant Housing & Property service for a London Borough on an interim basis.  Previous experience in Local Authority Housing and a proven ability to deliver impact within this environment will be critical to your success.

The Authority have been on an intensive service improvement journey over the past 3 years with huge strides made, but there is still work to be done.  This work falls into a 2 key strands:

Leadership- You will be required to oversee the stable workforce, whilst motivating and leading them to continue to address the improvements with the same drive and energy over the past few years.  You will balance strategic thinking with strong operational grip and bring calm, assured leadership, and be comfortable in delivering change and service improvement with a sound knowledge across both Housing & Assets.  

Service Improvement- You will deliver the remaining actions from the improvement plan, as well as some additional actions arising from a recent mock inspection.  You will also oversee the preparation for an impending inspection and make sure the service areas and ready for this process.

You will have a healthy handover with the outgoing Director so will have clarity and insight into the requirements of the role when you start.  You need to be comfortable at managing competing priorities, navigating the London Borough processes and be strong in influencing and driving performance.
