This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in ensuring statutory compliance, supporting leaseholders through major works programmes, and maximising the recovery of major works charges while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

The successful candidate will be required to work on-site four days per week.

The Role

Working within a busy Home Ownership team, you will take the lead on all statutory consultation processes relating to major works programmes. You will ensure legal compliance, manage leaseholder communications, support cost recovery, and resolve disputes and complaints effectively.

This is a varied and rewarding role that combines technical leasehold knowledge with stakeholder engagement, customer service, and dispute resolution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on statutory consultation processes for major works projects, ensuring full compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Prepare, issue and manage Section 20 consultation notices accurately and within required timescales.
  • Engage with leaseholders throughout consultation and project delivery, providing clear and professional advice.
  • Attend consultation meetings and explain proposed works, costs and payment options.
  • Work closely with contractors, consultants and internal teams to ensure works remain fully recoverable and leaseholders are kept informed.
  • Conduct site visits where required to support consultation activities and verify proposed works.
  • Maintain accurate records relating to consultations, service charges and project documentation.
  • Calculate and issue major works invoices, ensuring transparency and accuracy.
  • Manage disputes, challenges and complaints, seeking early resolution wherever possible.
  • Prepare evidence and documentation for County Court or Tribunal proceedings when required.
  • Attend formal hearings and represent the organisation as necessary.
  • Contribute to service improvement, customer satisfaction and performance targets.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Strong knowledge of the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act 2002, particularly in relation to major works consultation.
  • Good understanding of the Housing Act 1985 and subsequent amendments.
  • Experience of managing Section 20 consultation processes within a social housing or local authority environment.
  • Knowledge of building contracts, payment applications and cost recovery processes.
  • The ability to interpret leases and provide clear advice on leaseholder obligations.
  • Experience of handling complaints, disputes and complex stakeholder conversations.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
