About The Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a charity for older people which is focused on preventing and alleviating the loneliness that can come with later life.

Your role will be to lead in the delivery of Asset related work streams across the  portfolio to ensure the safety and well-being of residents, visitors and staff. Developing best value outcomes to ensure timely delivery of Major Works, Cyclical Decoration/Pre-paint Repairs, Reactive Repairs and Void works to ensure properties meet regulatory requirements to and provide a safe and secure environment in accordance with the ethos, mission and values.

Some responsibilities will include

  • Leadership and Management of the Asset Function
  • Lead and develop the national Assets team to deliver excellent services 
  • Provide supportive leadership to the geographically dispersed and home-based assets team, ensuring clarity of roles and purpose with consistent ways of working
  • Asset Management 
  • Act as the subject matter expert in all Asset Management related matters, ensuring professional knowledge and skills are maintained up to date through external networking and internal collaboration with peers
  • Effectively manage the delegated Asset Management budget; controlling, and authorising expenditure in line with -   their financial requirements and quality standards. 
  • Prepare annual budget for Asset Management expenditure, developing long-term investment plans and budgets for this area of operations
  • Ensure the Asset Management Strategy and associated action plans are used to steer operational and strategic decision making, together with assisting the Head of Property with the periodic review/re-drafting

About you

  • Demonstratable experience leading a team in the delivery of Asset Management related services like Major Works, Cyclical Decoration/Pre-paint Repairs, Reactive Repairs and Void works across a varied property portfolio that is geographically widely dispersed
  • Detailed knowledge of legislation and regulations relating to the six streams of Health & Safety compliance; gas safety, fire safety, electrical safety, asbestos management, water hygiene (legionella) and lifting equipment using a risk management approach to secure optimum levels of compliance
  • Experience leading and managing a remote team, securing high levels of engagement with a consistent approach to processes and new ways of working within a performance management framework
