Job Title: Repairs and Maintenance Manager

Hours: 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday

Are you a strategic leader with a passion for delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance services? We are seeking a dynamic Repairs and Maintenance Manager to lead a skilled team and drive operational excellence across a busy maintenance function.

The Role:
 
You will be responsible for overseeing the full Repairs & Maintenance service, ensuring top-quartile national performance standards are met. Working closely with senior leadership, you’ll shape service strategy, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvement across in-house teams, contractors, and partners. Your focus will be on delivering exceptional customer experiences while maintaining high standards across all properties.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a multi-disciplinary team including Repairs Officers, Project Managers, and a large in-house trades team.
  • Develop and implement service strategies, monitoring performance against KPIs and budgets.
  • Manage day-to-day operations, projects, and contracts to ensure timely, safe, and cost-effective repairs.
  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and a customer focused culture across the service.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and promote a culture of safety throughout the team.
  • Oversee procurement, contract management, and the delivery of value for money services.
  • Resolve complaints and complex issues, ensuring excellent outcomes for residents.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven experience managing high performing teams within a repairs, maintenance, or housing environment.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to manage budgets, performance, and service delivery.
  • Knowledge of housing legislation, repairs best practices, and relevant technical standards.
  • Resilience, initiative, and the ability to foster collaborative, positive working relationships.
  • Relevant degree or HND technical qualification (e.g., building surveying) or equivalent experience.
  • Full UK driving license and business-use insurance.
