Job Title: Repairs Officer (Contracts)

Team: Home and Community Maintenance
 Reports to: Repairs and Maintenance Manager
 Location: Field based
 Hours: 37 per week, Monday – Friday
 Salary: £44,109

Are you passionate about delivering high quality repairs and maintenance services that make a real difference to people’s homes? We’re looking for a skilled Repairs Officer (Contracts) to join our Home and Community Maintenance team. In this role, you will take ownership of contracted works, supporting a top class repairs service that ensures homes are safe, well maintained, and a source of pride for our customers.

What you’ll do:

  • Manage day to day repairs contracts, ensuring high quality service delivery and excellent value for money.
  • Lead the development and continuous improvement of a best in class repairs service.
  • Conduct full property surveys, raise and monitor works orders, and ensure timely completion.
  • Oversee contractors, ensuring compliance with health & safety and quality standards.
  • Monitor performance, budgets, and customer satisfaction, using data to drive improvements.
  • Support and develop team members, including an Apprentice Surveyor.
  • Assist in resolving complaints, legal claims, and disrepair cases effectively.
  • Participate in out of hours management as required.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience managing repairs to a high standard with excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Strong knowledge of housing legislation, policies, and best practice.
  • Experience leading high performing teams in repairs and/or voids management.
  • Understanding of building construction and maintenance processes.
  • Excellent organisational, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Resilience, flexibility, and the ability to work independently and proactively.

Qualifications:

  • HND in Building Construction, Building Surveying, or related subject.
  • Professional qualification in surveying or maintenance (e.g., CIOB, RICS) desirable.
  • NEBOSH certificate or equivalent in Health & Safety desirable.
  • Full UK driving license with business use insurance.
