The Role:

We are seeking a Surveyor to support the successful delivery of planned programmes, multi‑year investment projects, and major contracts across a diverse property portfolio. This role is key to ensuring assets are improved to agreed standards, regulatory compliance is met, and investment decisions are informed by strong technical insight and commercial awareness.

You will oversee individual work programmes and contracts, lead on budget and performance management, and act as a technical expert on property‑related matters. The role involves close collaboration with operational teams, contractors, and senior managers to ensure projects progress smoothly and deliver value for money.

This is a full‑time position with a hybrid working arrangement, including two days per week in the office.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage planned programmes and large‑scale improvement projects, ensuring delivery meets required standards and regulatory obligations.
  • Lead on budgetary control, commercial management, contract coordination and administration across multi‑year projects.
  • Ensure services and works deliver value for money, meet performance targets, and achieve high levels of customer satisfaction.
  • Provide expert technical advice on building issues and investment decisions to senior colleagues.
  • Manage and resolve day‑to‑day contract and commercial issues, preventing escalation and minimising service impact.
  • Oversee compliance with relevant housing and property standards, including Decent Homes and associated regulatory frameworks.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Relevant technical qualification (e.g., CIOB, RICS, CIH).
  • Strong background in asset management, property investment and public procurement.
  • Proven track record delivering planned improvement projects over £1m+, with strong contract and budget management capability.
  • Ability to assess and manage risk, ensuring service quality and value for money.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly.
  • Experience managing complex projects and working to tight deadlines.
  • Collaborative team player with a proactive, solutions‑focused approach.
  • Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
