We'll be discussing the challenge for Housing organisations of balancing their role as Place makers versus their Core Role in providing affordable housing. How do Boards justify the financial implications of investment against social impact. We'll hear from Sinead Butters, CEO at Aspire and Chair of the Board at Black Country Housing Group, and host an open discussion around the key themes.

About this event

This event will be Chaired by Zoe Wortley, MD of Soar Consulting leading on a range of projects across a number of sectors including housing, not for profit and education. These include governance and effectiveness reviews across a range of organisations such as Homes England, The Bank of London, EPNE College Group, Hundred Houses, Together Group, Luminus, First Garden Cities Homes, Prostate Cancer UK, NFoPP and JISC. Zoe has also delivered regulatory compliance and recovery assignments, executive and non-executive search and selection, mergers and provided senior governance interim support. 


Sinéad has been Chief Executive of Aspire Housing since 2006. 
Sinéad grew up in Staffordshire, studied at Keele University and is one of its founding ‘fellows’ in recognition of her achievements and Aspire’s support for North Staffordshire communities.
Sinéad is Chair of BCHG and a Non-Executive Director at Goram Homes and was Chair of national housing network PlaceShapers for five years. Sinéad continues to be a voice for change, sharing her passion for community-based solutions to the housing crisis.
In recent years, Sinéad has received an MBE for services to housing, and two honorary doctorates for work supporting our local communities.
